FGA Local Rules

1.  The 2019 USGA rule changes provide an alternative method for handling penalties regarding out of bounds or lost balls, but only if supported by a local rule.  FGA does support this local rule, which allows a ball to be dropped in the vicinity (including to the edge of the nearest fairway area), but not closer to the hole, of where their ball has gone out of bounds or believed lost, with a two-stroke penalty. The existing option of playing a provisional ball, with stroke and distance penalty, is still available.  But if the player does hit a provisional ball, and the original ball is out of bounds or lost, the provisional ball must be played (the new option would then not be available).  See USGA Model Local Rule E-5 for more information.

2.  On the 1st hole at Mission Trails Golf Course, a ball that lands in a drainage ditch can be dropped no closer to the hole without penalty.

3.  On the 14th hole at Mission Trails Golf Course, the middle tee players should hit from the forward tees unless the middle tees are in the same general tee-off area as the forward tees.

4.  On the 12th hole at Mt. Woodson Golf Club, occasionally the white tee markers are in the same general tee-off position as the blue tee-off position near the 11th green.  If so, the white tee box players should instead hit from the next forward tee box area.
