Friday Golf Association
Club Overview
The Friday Golf Association (FGA) was established in 1978 in San Diego. It has lasted because the reasons for its existence are solid. The core reason being that members, no matter their handicap index or skill level, love to play golf, treasure the fellowship and friendship of the other members.
Membership in any organization places certain responsibilities on its members, and we are no different in that regard. These responsibilities include playing by the rules and maintaining proper pace of play. In order to get fixed tee times and favorable rates, we have to guarantee the courses in our rotation a certain number of golfers will play (usually 24). The current rotation was agreed on by the membership. It is also a duty of members to act as monthly coordinator approximately every two to three years; members may not refuse that duty and maintain their membership. The club has an awards banquet every year, which is traditionally held the first Sunday after the Super Bowl.
The Board of Directors believes that any member who is not willing to comply with the bylaws and traditions of the club should resign their membership. Membership may be revoked for failure to comply. It has been a long held belief that we are not a tee time service, but a golf association with a long standing tradition. Remember these simple obligations; enjoy the golf and the fellowship. Your Board of Directors is always ready to listen to problems, complaints or suggestions for improvements.
